Titanium TIG Welding Rod

Titanium TIG welding rod (TIG = tungsten inert gas) is a filler metal for welding titanium parts together. When welding titanium, it is better use the same grade of titanium welding rod with the base metal. However, if the base metal is commercially pure titanium, a welding rod which strength level below the base metal is also acceptable.

There are two kinds of packing terms.

 

1) Packed with plastic boxes. The titanium tig welding rods will be put into plastic boxes for safe storage and easy carrying. The plastic box has an cap at one end, it is easy open and close. Usually Max. 5kgs titanium TIG welding rods/ box. Then all of the welding rods will be put into standard export ply-wooden boxes.

 

2) Simple pack. When buyer has own designed container and bulk purchase from us, they usually ask for simple package. That is we put the titanium welding rods into plastic bags in certain kilograms, and then all of the bags will be put into standard export ply-wooden boxes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When you use titanium TIG welding rods weld with titanium base metal, there are several tips for you to lead a successful welding. 

 

1) Qualified welding rod - make sure the welding rod are qualified and free on oil, dust, cracks and blowholes internal and external.

 

2) Correct grade of welding rod with the base metal - choose the same grade of titanium or proper grade of titanium with the base metal.

 

3)Cleanness of welding rod and base metal -when welding titanium, please make sure that the base metal, welding rods and environment are clean. Any oils or dirt may lead to weld failure.

 

4) Isolation of oxygen - it is quite important. Oxygen is a chemically active gas with the ability to react with metal. if oxygen is not effectively isolated, it will react with the metal, resulting in a rapid rise in temperature in the welding area, which may produce unstable small explosions, resulting in poor welding. The reaction of oxygen and metal may also affect the mechanical properties of the weld, such as strength, toughness, etc., resulting in the performance decline of welded joints, and even serious problems such as cracking.
